Our half-day mayan chocolate making and waterfall tour takes place in Mayan Center village where we head over to an organic cacao farm. The chocolate making tour starts from the cacao tree, to the bean and ends with a Mayan chocolate bar in your hands.
Narciso the farmer gives you a complete history of his organic cacao farm and a detailed explanation of how the beans are extracted from the pods and then fermented and finally dried and ready to be processed into chocolate.Immediately after the farm, we head back to the small-indoors chocolate facility, where you will be greeted by the exotic aroma of chocolate. During this hands-on experience, you will learn how to make your own chocolate on traditional grinding stones just like the ancient Mayans did.
Chei’l Mayan chocolate making offers a true immersion and the best of Real Mayan Culture and its authenticity.
Shortly after the chocolate making we then head out to mayan king waterfall for a quick refreshing swim before heading back to Placencia.
